Meet the Artist

I’m Katie Peternell and my passion in life is quilting. For 10 years, I’ve spread the love and warmth of tradition to over 100 customers through family heirlooms. The art of quilting was passed down to me by my Grandma Ruth and I’m proud to be the 6th generation of women to carry on the love and craftsmanship of the tradition. I understand the beauty of handmade that’s why my products are meant to be used and seen in daily life.

My goal is to bring the feeling of home to all aspects of your life with quilts. Growing up along corn fields, listening to 70’s music, and wanting to create something unique all inspire me to produce one of a kind products. Quilts have a long history of being the gift of love and I’m excited to share that gift with you.

Besides Horizon Quilts, my fiber art and quilting classes can be found in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago.
